Radley Private School appoints new principal
Radley Private School is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs Stephanie Olivier to the position of school principal. Mrs Olivier comes to Radley from the Curro group of schools where she held the executive head role at two schools and was also the founding leader of Curro Helderwyk in the Western Cape. She has a wealth of teaching and leadership experience having taught children of all ages – from pre-school all the way through to matric – using various methods of instruction and learning. A passionate educator, Mrs Olivier believes that good teachers teach from the heart. Says she, “Good teachers constantly try to produce a high standard in all they do; they are well-prepared, they research best practices, they have engaging lessons, they celebrate their students’ achievements and support those who need extra guidance. They are good communicators and role-models but – most of all – they care.”
She strongly believes that children need solid foundations to build their futures and has a deep understanding and critical awareness of the unique challenges facing the youth in today’s switched-on, digital society. For this reason, she is eager to take on the leadership of a school that actively promotes entrepreneurship among its learners so that they have multiple options upon matriculating, remarking, “I believe what sets Radley apart is the fact that it has an entrepreneurial-infused curriculum basted in top business incubator Raizcorp’s uniquely successful marinade. Radley encourages innovation, emergent thinking, originality and ingenuity – all within the framework of a well-structured curriculum. The learning spaces offer opportunity for flexible seating, the advancement of creativity, a moderate approach to discipline and the chance to wear a more contemporary uniform. Furthermore, there is a focused approach to exposing our entrepreneurs to a variety of businesses within our community in order to enrich their learning experiences.”
