
Senior Entrepreneurial Scout
Job Purpose
The Senior Entrepreneurial Scout (SES) is a premium Raizcorp brand ambassador who proactively delivers superior calibre entrepreneurs for the various Raizcorp programmes. The SES’ primary responsibility includes scouting for and finding entrepreneurs for various developmental programmes to be executed within Raizcorp. The SES is a natural hunter who actively drives the entrepreneurial selection process (Purple process) and ensures the qualitative and quantitative flow of entrepreneurs throughout the Selection process.
The SES is a senior member of staff and is expected to play a leadership role within the Selection Department. Every SES may have both an Admin Assistant as well as a Junior Entrepreneurial Scout reporting into them from time to time, depending on the needs and growth of the department.
The ES reports into the Selection Manager and will be responsible specifically to:
- All technically challenging / bespoke selection projects. The SES is the only Scout that is permitted to scout for Tier 1 clients. A Scout may be required to supervise a Junior Entrepreneurial Scout with a Tier 1 client only when instructed by the Selection Manager.
- The SES is responsible for driving Junior Entrepreneurial Scouts to find quality Raizcorpossibles and actively maintaining and improving the assigned Prosperator(s) Raizcorpossibles stock lists.
- The SES has a target of 8 qualified entrepreneur leads per month.
- The SES may be required to travel to other Prosperators, centres and hubs around the country to assist in the Purple process.
- The SES may be required to conduct feasibility studies for projects/programmes from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Entrepreneurial Scout’s key responsibilities include:
- Own, adopt and execute the Purple process for all new candidates applying for any one of the Raizcorp Programmes, which will include but not limited to:
- Develop headhunting strategies and manage and drive the headhunting process across the country.
- Associations for sourcing leads for projects.
- Compiling of GEMS and Opal Packs
- Managing the ticketing system
- Setting and conducting interviews with candidates,
- Arranging and preparing the candidates for panels.
- Ensure all documentation in files is correct and accurate for audit purposes.
- Generating new leads through events, presentations, talks and networking.
- Cold calling potential leads for a variety of Enterprise Development programmes.
- Building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders.
- Preparing Principal packs for companies that sponsor the successful entrepreneurs.
- Providing continuous feedback to entrepreneurs during the purple process.
- Ensuring timelines are adhered to during the Purple process.
- Managing the Administrative Assistant: Selection (AA) allocated to the SES. The SES will work closely with his/her allocated AA and the ES is responsible for ensuring that the AA is functioning optimally within the Purple process. This includes managing the AA using REMS in the correct manner and that all data is captured correctly and to the required timelines.
- Managing the entire Purple process on REMS, ensuring strong attention to detail in all information captured to the prescribed timelines as determined by the Selection Manager from time-to-time. The SES is responsible for all entrepreneur data captured on REMS, both his/her own process information as well as the information captured by the Administrative Assistant: Selection allocated to the SES.
- The SES is responsible for signing off all Purple files compiled by the SES as well as the AA allocated to the ES. The AA is responsible for compiling all Purple files but the SES is responsible for its quality. The ES must review and sign-off each file created for the SES’ projects.
- Reporting back in the Amethyst meeting regarding number and quality of responses from marketing campaigns.
- Reporting back in the Purple Weave meeting on their allocated projects.
- Attending a wide variety of events, including on weekends and manning stands.
- Working with a team of support staff in achieving various targets and deadlines.
- Required to travel to other Prosperators from time to time to fulfil the need for new entrepreneurs.
- The Senior Entrepreneurial Scout is responsible for ensuring that all verification packs issued for his/her projects are 100% complete. This is a critical business requirement and inherent requirement of this role. Failure to meet this criterion is seen as a significant breach of process and is critical to the success of Raizcorp as a whole.
- Monitor and maintain a high level of delivery to all clients that apply for any of the programmes.
- Manage, mentor and guide admin staff in the department.
Skills, Competencies & Minimum Criteria
- Minimum national diploma or degree level qualification.
- Strong verbal communicator, able to liaise with entrepreneurs, clients and team members.
- Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- At least 5 years’ previous experience in sales and/or recruitment industry.
- Must have experience excelling in a high-volume sales and/or recruitment position.
- Must be experienced in and have exposure to different interviewing techniques.
- Head hunting / cold calling experience non-negotiable.

Raizcorp may in its absolute discretion require the employee from time to time, to perform duties which are incidental to the position into which the Employee is hereby appointed.
The employee expressly understands and accepts that this position will require overtime work as and when projects and deadline require. The employee undertakes, as far reasonable in each project, to commit to successful achievement of project deadlines and submission dates.
The Employee will be required to travel and will be compensated on a per kilometre basis or on an S&T basis if required to stay overnight.
